Matrix Basics

Drag a cell in a 2×2 matrix or an arrow's tip on the graph. Each column is one arrow, so the numbers and the picture always match.

A Matrix Is a Group of Vectors

Each column of a matrix is a vector. A 2×2 matrix holds 2 vectors in a plane; a 3×3 matrix holds 3 vectors in space.

2 Vectors in a Plane

Column 1 = (3.00, 5.00)
Column 2 = (7.00, 2.00)
Each column has 2 numbers — a vector with an x and a y.
