Follow the graph out to the far left and it flattens toward a horizontal line. Find the height of that line:

$L = \lim_{x \to -\infty} f(x)$

This is the left-hand end of the graph, $x \to -\infty$ — not the right-hand end, and the two ends do not agree here.
